The Project

Issue:

Identifying complex issues through methodical testing and reporting.

Our team was engaged by a builder to carry out a full-site investigation on a multi-bathroom home with suspected water and drainage issues. The property was experiencing high water usage and possible internal leaks, and the builder required clear results to support next steps.

Scope of Work:

  • Pressure testing of the property’s water supply revealed a loss of approx. 39L per hour — indicating an underground water leak.
  • Bathroom testing included flood tests, breach tests, spray tests, and thermal inspections across multiple levels. Results confirmed that all fixtures were in good working order, with one area excluded from breach testing to avoid potential pipe damage.
  • CCTV camera inspection was conducted through access points and exposed sections of the bulkhead to trace stormwater and sewerage lines.
  • Drainage mapping confirmed the condition, direction, and fall of the sewer line to the council connection, identifying it as structurally sound and free from cracks or blockages.

Outcome:

Stormwater assessment confirmed both sides of the system were functioning correctly, with acceptable hold in the charged section at the rear.

We provided a clear, detailed report of all findings, supported by photos and technical notes. The investigation helped rule out internal drainage issues and confirmed that the water leak was likely in the underground mains supply — assisting the builder and owner in taking the next appropriate steps.
